> ELISABETE BRIGADEIRO
Elisabete completed her sociology degree at the “Universidade Nova de Lisboa” in 1995 and finished her post-graduate studies in Population and Human Ecology Studies at the same university in 1996.
In 1995 she also began her professional career working as a sociologist for Oeiras Municipal Council (CMO). Since then, her career has followed a route based on research-action dialectics, backed up by a considerable non-conventional bibliography.
Elisabete is a founding associate of Númena where she carried out research and occupied management positions until 2002 when she was nominated as an assistant to the Minister of Education and consequently suspended her work at this association. In 2002 she was also appointed as a member of the managing council of the “ Instituto de Emprego e Formação Profissional” (Institute of Employment and Vocational Training), a position she held until April 2005.
Having been freed from her responsibilities in the latter organisations, she rejoined the CMO and once again started to collaborate with Númena. At the end of 2005 Elisabete began writing up her master’s thesis in sociology.
