Since July 2003 Isabel has been involved in the conception and development of the Bridge Margin - Anti-Discrimination Resource Centre, a project approved in 2004 under a co-financing of the Knowledge Society Operating Programme (POSC) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), being currently responsible for the editorial coordination of the Ponte Margem website.

Since July 2010 is developing with Tiago Ralha the project "Special needs, disability and empowerment in Portugal: A knowledge resources guide (1974-2010)", under a cooperation with the Portuguese Association of Persons with Disabilities (APD - Associação Portuguesa de Deficientes).

Belongs to the Portuguese team of the RED Network - Rights, Equality & Diversity promoted by the Greek Institute for Rights, Equality & Diversity (iRED) and under co-financing of the European programme "Fundamental Rights and Citizenship" (2011-2013).


PAST ACTIVITIES

In 1998 started working in activities within the publishing field and organisation of initiatives, mainly in the social sciences domain, working with a non-profit making scientific organisation (1998-2000), with an urban environment association - publishing department (2001-2002) and with a local residents’ association (2002-2005). Has been working with Númena since 2003, being associated since 2005.

From March 2003 to December 2009 was responsible for the editing of the Immigration Observatory website under an agreement between Númena and the High Commissioner for Immigration and Intercultural Dialogue (ACIDI).

From January 2005 to January 2007 was part of the Portuguese Focal Point of the Racism and Xenophobia European Network (RAXEN), promoted by the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia (EUMC). In this regard worked in the collection and analysis of information and in the development of periodic bulletins and project reports:

  • Special Study – Combating Ethnic and Racial Discrimination and Promoting Equality: Trends and Developments in Portugal 2000-2005, Vienna: EUMC - European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia, 2006 (with Bruno Dias, Tiago Ralha, Mónica Ribeiro and Elisa Silva).
  • The Situation of the Immigrants and Ethnic Minorities in Portugal in 2005 – Annual Report for the European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia, Vienna: EUMC - European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia, 2005 (with Bruno Dias, Tiago Ralha, Mónica Ribeiro, Edite Rosário, Hugo Seabra and Elisa Silva).
  • Special Study – Organisations Supporting Victims of Racial Discrimination in Portugal, Vienna: EUMC - European Monitoring Centre on Racism and Xenophobia, 2005 (with Bruno Dias, Tiago Ralha and Elisa Silva).

From May 2007 to October 2008 collaborated as publishing assistant of the first three numbers of the journal Migrações (Migration) edited within the Immigration Observatory by the High Commissioner for Immigration and Intercultural Diversity (ACIDI).
